From a Dispatch Desk to Our Own Trucks
Gina Russo's old office had a wall map stretching from the Bronx up to New Haven, and a phone that never stopped. At a Westchester van line she shuffled trucks across that map like chess pieces, year after year. Thousands of jobs crossed her desk. The ones that went wrong, she noticed, went wrong in identical ways. A crew arrived blind to a walk-up with four flights. A doorman waved the truck off because no proof of coverage had been sent. A price given by phone skipped an entire basement.
So when her own crews hit Stamford's streets, paper came first. A walk-through before any house quote. A written estimate, always. Buildings get their certificate of insurance days early. Boxes are labelled, logged, loaded. Last year our crews ran roughly 900 moves that way, from downtown studios to whole houses bound for the Carolinas. Not glamorous. Honestly, the paperwork is the boring reason our trucks leave on time.
Our fleet today is six 26-foot liftgate trucks and a 16-footer for skinny streets and small jobs. Behind them sits a climate-controlled warehouse of storage vaults, and every name on the crew list is on our own payroll. Most weeks the board says Stamford, Greenwich, Darien, Norwalk and the Westchester towns past the state line. One job in five? It starts in New York City.

How We Run Every Move
Four habits, and you'll notice them before the first call ends.
Look Before We Quote
We won't price a house we haven't looked at, whether that means standing in your hallway or walking through it on FaceTime. Quotes taken blind over the phone come in roughly 20% short for houses. The shortfall shows up when the truck is half full.
Our Own Crews
Every mover on your crew is ours. No day labour picked up on a corner. No handing your job to some other outfit when the calendar gets tight.
Paper Before Pads
Paper comes before pads. By the time anything goes up our ramp, the paperwork is finished: your written quote, the checklist of every item, the building's certificate of insurance, the booked dock. Crossing state lines? Then it's a binding not-to-exceed price as well.
Pads on Everything
Count them if you like: 80 quilted furniture pads per truck, with floor runners and door jamb covers stacked beside them. Wrapping costs a few minutes. A gouged dining table costs a refinisher and a month.
Fifteen Years of Dispatch Behind Every Move
“The moves I'm proudest of are the ones nobody remembers. Truck on time, crew who knows the stairs, lunch eaten sitting down. Getting to forgettable takes a clipboard and a lot of lists.”

Priya S. Our building at Harbor Point wanted a certificate of insurance and a dock time. Gina’s office sent both before I even asked. The crew had the two-bedroom in the truck by 11 and set up in North Stamford by 3.
Local move · Harbor Point to North StamfordTom & Alison K. Moving out of a fourth-floor walk-up on the Upper West Side is nobody’s idea of fun. They packed the kitchen the day before, carried everything down without a scratch on the banister and the price matched the estimate.
NYC to Connecticut move · Manhattan to Darien, CTRebecca L. We stored the whole house in their vaults for seven weeks between closings. Everything came back dry and exactly as it went in, including my grandmother’s piano.
